KRUEGER'S KQ FAN TERMINALS DELIVER LOWEST SOUND LEVELS IN THE HVAC INDUSTRY
RICHARDSON, Texas (August 4, 2000)
Krueger’s quiet fan terminals, KQF
models, deliver the lowest sound levels in noise criteria (NC) in the HVAC
industry according to Environmental Testing Laboratories (ETL) and the Air
Conditioning & Refrigeration Institute (ARI) standards.
Ranking first in lowest NC levels in two sound competitions among it’s major competitors, Krueger’s KQF models are designed to maintain optimum temperatures in the conditioned zone through economical recirculation of plenum return air and accurate control of primary air to the zone. Krueger’s KQFS model tested at an NC level of NC55 in a 1500 cubic feet per minute (CFM) primary at 1” pressure drop (Pd) plus fan at .25” external static pressure (ESP) with no reductions. While competitors Titus tested at NC58, ENVIRO-TEC tested at NC55, Nailor tested at NC56, Price tested at NC56 and MetalAire tested at NC57.
The second test was set at ARI condition 2100 CFM primary at 1.5”Pd plus fan at .25”ESP with Krueger once again topping the competition at a rating of NC38 while Titus tested NC40, ENVIRO-TEC tested NC41 and Nailor tested at NC39.
Krueger’s KQF line offers strong integral panel/post construction for long lasting service. The multi-voltage motors, blower and primary air damper components are easily accessible from the bottom of the unit. With six types of casing liners, including Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) foil coating, fiber free and double wall, there is a unit to meet each job specification.
Other features to meet unique job specifications include:
- Integral induced air attenuator with no bolts on components required
- Rigid 20 gauge galvanized steel construction
- Choice of linear or center averaging air flow sensor
- Single point electrical connection
- Bottom access speed control
- Quiet fan motors – permanently split capacitor (PSC) type and General Electric electronically controlled motor (ECM™)
- Integral hot water coil access
- Easy 4-screw access to internal components
- 14 Casing liner combinations
As an industry leader and innovator in the air distribution industry since 1947, Krueger has excelled in offering a diverse product line in the HVAC industry with a special focus on clean room, industrial and architectural marketplaces. Based out of Richardson, Texas, Krueger is a division of Air System Components (ASC) with five manufacturing locations in four states. Krueger Technology Center, based in Tucson, Ariz., is committed to extensive product testing, development and demonstration of both new technologies and existing, practiced theories of proper air distribution. ASC is a subsidiary of Tomkins Industries plc based out of London, England.
